Valentine's Day: How Halaal is it?

Valentine's day is Haram

By Asma bint Shameem

Okay...so it's that time of the year again. When they say that 'love' is in the air. The time when you see 'RED' everywhere.....red hearts, red candy, red flowers and red roses.

And when you walk into the stores you see chocolates, and jewelry and gifts for that 'someone special' you know.

The Dangers of Chi - (A Martial Arts Jinn story)

My History of Martial Arts

By a Muslim Brother

I began learning martial arts over a decade ago, I was always very keen and took great interest not only in the physical sciences of the art but also the spiritual aspects. I studied many systems during this time including both Japanese and Chinese systems (both northern and southern systems as well as internal and external systems). All my instructors were of the highest caliber, including a Shaolin Monk from China, Grand Masters and national champions (and if I was to provide you with their names I don’t think anyone would dispute their skill and genuine martial arts lineage)

Carry a pocket-size Qur'an always

Most of us don't realize the value of each second that slips away from our life, which could be consciously used for Qur'an. Either through reading, reflecting or teaching our kids or friends. There are so many instances daily in our lives where we willingly or unwillingly have to just be doing nothing. Those are the golden offers of time that our Merciful Lord gives us and we lose it all as zero credits into our Aakhira. Below is an experience of a Brother who has learnt a precious lesson from it.

"the Niqabi sister stood in the line to pay...."

A Niqabi sister's bravery

A True story from nowadays:

After picking up groceries in the supermarket, the Niqabi sister stood in the line to pay. After a few minutes, her turn came up at the checkout counter.

Surah Ad-Dhuha

Surah Ad-Duha
By Amani Iqbal
Many of us know surah ad-duha off by heart and have probably read its meaning many times as well, which seems quite straightforward. How many of us, though, have actually gone into the reason behind its revelation and derived the lessons and implications this surah has in our lives?
